I have been curious about boundweave lately. I did some investigation and was really keen to give it a try. I've been eyeing some carpet yarns on sale at DBNY and got a massive boxed lot. I decided I'd unply several yarns and that was a large project. But since they had been wound on cone double and trebble thickness it seemed like the most economical to me. Once the yarns had been separated I realized there was a lot of pea green. a lot. Since the colors were in general from the 70's they were hit or miss. I decided to use some au'natural for the test and really liked the results. This is my first krokbragd.
The warp is lily mills carpet warp and the weft is mill end yarns from Colonial Carpet. I did not use any real drafts throughout - it was more experimentation than anything. It gets intuitive after you figure out which color shows where. the edges are a mess and I kept forgetting to run the yarns up the side, leaving a lot of ends that needed to be sewn in. but live and learn.
