I have been gearing up to do some dyeing - but for like a year - I'm just so lazy.  Your project is an inspiration.  Maybe that table cloth with a hand-dyed warp that I envision will, some day, become a reality.  You must be really happy with this project - what was your dye and your yarn?  Did you hand dye the weft to get a close shade?

I actually did see that image as a caterpillar. I was not certain whether you had gone native and raising your own fiber animals or it was what inspired the colors.

Lovely color choice, dye job, and weaving. A shawl I would love to includde in my wardrobe.

I love how your colors interact!

Did you underdye the aqua, or did it separate out of the green? It's so subtle/beautiful!

How did you choose your weft color?

ETA: I just saw your blog post where you showed your weft auditions.

Notes

I've recently started doing some dyeing, specifically handpainting warps I've measured out.  Prior to this shawl, I'd previously only dyed warp for scarves - cotton, silk, and rayon.  I wanted to try a shawl, painting purposefully to get some overlap and some differentiation between the 7 bouts I'd measured in advance.  I'm quite pleased with this for my first attempt at this process.

I opted for a simple extended point twill, wanting the colors to be the stars, not a complex twill design.  I switched direction of the twill at each section of the warp.

I think the wound warp, ready to batch, looks like a caterpillar.

You can get more details in my blog post on this.
