how do you keep the inclusions from breaking or messing up going around the cloth beam?

Dear Endorph,

I have read that you should protect the cloth and inclusions by covering wiht a thick terry towel as it wraps around t cloth beam.  I think that there is more danger of the cloth being distorted as it builds up on the  beam than of actually breaking the items, but i suppose it depends on how fragile they are.  XO

Wouldn't putting a block of wood about the same dimensions next to the objects help maintain the tension on the rest of the cloth as you wind it up? Newbie here, just thinking how I would try to do it.

Or, you could just limit the fancy stuff to the space on front of the roller. The piece would be really small on a table loom but could be a nice decorative size on a floor loom.

Actually, I'm just making short flags/banners so I cut them off after each one is finished and re-tie.  Goes very fast.  I have a friend who weaves with dried floral stems and she uses bubble wrap to wind on.

Hi, I'm very new to weaving having just tried a very small hand loom. Today I've been given a 6ft dryad floor loom with 2 pedals and 2 'threading frames'? I love this sea shell hanger, and would love to try this once I get to grips with threading up the loom. Very nice!
