Love your rugs, and best of all, it was done on a vintage loom! Nice work. Frank.

Very nice work! It is lovely! I am working on my first rag rug myself. I have an Erica 25 rigid heddle.

Thanks TheLoominary and Tinaminard!  It was one of those looms where the previous owner had to downsize to a condo and couldn't take it with her.  I cleaned it up waxed it and my DH helped me replace the front and back beams with red oak (but not stained so you can tell the wood is new).  He included steel reinforcement bars on the underside so that the beams won't bow again. I replaced the wire heddles with large insert eye heddles, repaired the broken beater leg and bought a couple of SS reeds and it was good to go. (all original parts are shrinkwrapped together and will be available if and when I sell it.)  It is my first counter balance loom.  I've never worked on a loom with such a large shed and with such amazing tension... What a joy!

I'm starting my first rug with cotton mop and wonder how you weave the ends in.  Usually I run the end up the side of the project, but this stuff is so thick that I'm worried it will be way too visible.

Any advice is welcome!
