I'm glad to hear it! I, too, learned to weave in the 1970s and am now thinking about starting again after a long absence. I can't wait to see how your towels come out! Love that color! Weave on!

If I can get back into it, you can too-it was a struggle getting the warp-had all kinds of problems-but now that I am weaving-I just love it!

Notes

I learned to weave in the late 70's when I was in Colorado-now many years later, I am retired and living in the ozarks of Missouri-I am putting on my first warp of at least 15 years now of not weaving-making kitchen towels for my first project

This project comes from Handwoven's issue sept/oct 2009 page 32   A Versatile draft for hand or dish towels by Gunnel Orsejo. Choose any cotton, cottolin, or linen yarns to weave towels in a viking-era twill design. A good project to work from your stash. The structure is a 2/3 broken point twill.  After weaving a few inches-wow I love the design.

I just now completed this project-I know just shy of two years-but I do lots of other things besides weave lol rug hook, quilt, make soap, do some fiber art, a little garden, faux walls etc. I loved this pattern and will definately use this again for more towels.Using a textured cotton for weft makes these ideal for hand towels-although you will lose most of the pattern-my last towel looks and feels beautiful with the very textured soft pastel green cotton I found in my stash. I love all the towels.

If I were too change anything, I think I would like the stripe to be wider on both ends. One could also bring in more color by adding stripes of colors in the warp too.
