Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the group and I'm looking for a Used Macomber Floor Loom, preferably with 8-shafts or more and anywhere from 32" to 48".  I have been weaving for more than 10 years.  My big loom is a 54" Glimakra.  It's a countermarche loom and I love it but hate to tie it up.  I'd like to either replace it or supplement it with a Macomber.  I live in Southwest Virginia so it would be best to find a loom somewhere in the Eastern part of the US.  Any suggestions about how to find one would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Meridith

Meridith,

I have a 48" 10/10 for sale but I live in Maine. You could look on Craigslist or the For Sale Group.

Is your loom listed on Craig's List?  I don't think I saw it.  Where can I see details?

Thanks, Meridith

Hi Meridith,

Sorry I haven't replied, I have been traveling for the past three weeks. I had the loom listed but took it off when I was away. It will be relisted next week when I return.

Meridith,

Have you found your 'new' Macomber? Perhaps you'd be interested in mine?

please contact me via private message for details.

Hi Meridith,

Have you ever tryed the tie up system from Vavstuga Weaving School. I find it very easy and quicker than the Macomber tie up. Here is the Link http://store.vavstuga.com/category/looms-vavstuga-tieup.html

Hi Connie,

I might be interested.  Don't see how to send a private message.  I tried to reply to you yesterday.  Can you send me photos?  What's the price?

Meridith if you look to the right of the name you will see either send email (if turned on) or send PM. Also if you go the profile page down under HISTORY is a place to send PM.

Hope this helps

If you love your countermarche, but hate to tie it up, you may want to consider a 20+ from Woolhouse tools.  It moves the tie up to the back of the loom, where you can just sit in a chair and tie the whole thing up in about a half an hour.
