Today I have again uploaded a new WIF ‘n Proof version. You may download the new manual here It includes some revisions to the designing tutorial and I have added a Troubleshooting section as well as notes for Android users. I will be emailing all registered users notifying them of the new version and attaching a copy of the new manual, so if you are a registered user, you will be receiving it automatically. To get the new version, just start WIF ‘n Proof on your mobile device while connected to the Internet. Not all of these new features are in the Demo version, so if you are evaluating WIF ‘n Proof, please download the manual.
What’s New
WIF ‘n Proof now has a project Notes & Reports section. This section will calculate the number of heddles required per shaft, the yardage per color for warp and weft, and the approximate size of the piece when removed from the loom. At the yarn shop, this report will help you estimate what you need, but you should always purchase extra. You can also enter notes on a draft, and save those notes to your database.
I am still waiting on Dropbox to support files transfer for web apps, but you can now Export any draft you have designed. The WIF file is automatically inserted in an email you can send to anyone. You can use this to transfer a design from one device to another, to your computer to import into computer drafting software, or just to a friend. WIF ‘n Proof is not as yet able to create drafts with the sophistication of a computer drafting program, but it is a good jumping off point and allows you to design on the go.
Several people have asked for a way to highlight the current end or pick when using WIF ‘n Proof to assist at the loom. I have added a Magnifier to the threading, the treadling and the lift plan screens. To turn it on, tap on the button with the magnifying glass or just tap on the draft itself. It will move along as you tap Next Pick or Next End. To turn it off, tap on the magnified window.
If you have a question or a problem running WIF ‘n Proof, drop me an email at [email protected]. I will do my best to assist you or to correct the problem promptly.
