Nobody's going to think you're crazy, we've all been there.

What's your warp and your warp sett?

Tommye

I'm using linen warp and the sett is 8wpi. However, as you will see above, I am still learning what weft can be used with what warp...especially handspun yarn. I finally hit the mark with some silk/bamboo handspun (the turquoise) and then found a longwool (white) that seems to work as well.  I guess that's the name of the game right now, although I've certainly decided to do some definite spinning for weaving in the near future!  This is quite the learning curve, but I am having a great time!

eta: I think the next time I will use wool for the warp-the linen is nice and strong, but seems a bit tricky getting the weft through the shed on butterflies-I don't have any bobbins yet. I guess my hands aren't "trained" yet either!! : )

I can't believe how much you've learned already! You tapestry is really coming along. The turquoise handspun silk/ bamboo looks luscious! You might also enjoy trying Cotton Seine Twine for warp. It's very strong but very forgiving on the fingers! It's easy to get a shed. Too much fun, isn't it?!

I am having a great time!  I do plan on getting some "store bought" warps and wefts. I don't mind practicing with my handspun since I have a ton of it-just need to be sure it it compatible with the warp!.
