Does anyone on Weavo do yardage on spec?  I find myself with huge amounts of nubby silks and was thinking of doing 5-yard lengths to sell.  I've so far done scarves, shawls and household items (the usuals).  I will also have to work on a sales venue for it, so there are a lot of things to consider.

I've done yardage for my own sewing but never considered selling it. This is a good question. I think a nubby silk yardage for sewing would be most desirable in 5-10 yard lengths. Let's see what others have to say. You may want to advertise this new group in the Weaving forum. CLick in the word Forums in the orange toolbox at the top of the page and go to the weaving forum. I like the idea of forming a group for this topic. Claudia

depending on the final width 5 yds might work. I wove off some fabric this summer at 24", wet finished at 22" & 4.75 yds and have enough, I think/hope, to make a  short, size 12, 3/4 sleeved jacket. Haven't actually laid out the pattern pieces so am not 100% sure.  You might want to look at yardage requirements of articles that the fabric would suit and go from there.

Update: geez, yardage too short, guess this will become a vest instead.
