Good Day,

Can anyone tell me about this company and how thier floors looms compare to others on the market ?

I am looking at purchasing thier smaller Counter Marche floor loom, but I have not heard much about them, not can I find any info anywhere it seems on what they are like to weave with and how they would be for a new weaver..

Plus, I heard the company is closing down and is currently only providing support services..  Should this be a factor in my descision process.?

Other companies I am investigating are (Smaller floor looms) i.e Glimakra Idea or Standard; Louet spring ; toika Liisa / Varpu, AVL Home loom.

Excellent loom maker, just about anything they produced is worth looking at.

I agree with Sara.  I bought an Inkle loom from there and I am very happy about it.  It is very sturdy, well finished.

I agree.  I bought a 20+ from them and the workmanship is excellent.

I have not crossed paths with their floor looms, but I am quite familiar with a few different models of their table looms.  If you ask me, they're the best table looms out there, hands down.  Before they went out of business, I even snatched up a few of their 16" 8H table looms ("Mimi") for fear that I'll never have the opportunity again.

If their floor looms are as simply and intelligently designed - which I have every reason to believe - I would lament not picking up one of those as well.  If you can convince them to do another small run, let me know.  ;-)

John has been trying to sell the business for a number of years.  Like so many of us, the grey hairs have taken over and he wanted to retire.  I have a 24 shaft Margaret 'table' loom with stand.  It has woven everything from very fine silks, linens and cottons to rayon chenille.  John also provided excellent customer service as well as a good product.

Thank you so much for all your feedback.

There is a wonderful lady out in B.C, Canada, who has the smaller floor model, and I have been in contact with her several times over the past few months.  She is willing to part with her loom, and I have been desperately trying to come up with the funds.  As I just don't have the extra cash to make any mistakes by purchasing an unsuitable loom, ( I am a newer weaver), I was hoping to find out more info to help ensure we'd be a good fit.!  Thank you all for your insights; I’m feeling much more confident towards the purchase, but should anyone have more information, please do share!
