Today I uploaded the new WIF ‘n Proof version that allows you to design your own fabric or enter a draft from a magazine or book.  You may download the new manual here, or just the section of the manual that includes a tutorial on the designing process here.  You may also see an overview on my website.   I will be emailing all registered users notifying them of the new version and attaching a copy of the new manual, so if you are a registered user, you will be receiving it automatically.  To get the new version, just start WIF ‘n Proof on your mobile device while connected to the Internet.

Please follow the design tutorial in the new manual.  It will give you a quick overview of the design process.  I unfortunately did not receive enough response from beta testers to be sure that WIF ‘n Proof is bug free.  So if you find a bug or are confused by the instructions, please let me know at [email protected].  I will do my best to correct the problem promptly.

There will be a price increase on the iPad version.  The current price will be valid for one week through midnight Eastern Time on September 25, 2011.  If you have not yet purchased the WIF ‘n Proof iPad version, take advantage of the current price.  The new price will be $24.95, and the combined iPad, iPhone price will be $32.95.

There is also a new section (Utilities) that allows you to completely erase all entries in your database.  The database can now contain an unlimited number of WIF files, and the selection list (Select a WIF) will scroll to allow you to view them all.  You can sort the list by name or date by tapping on the column headers.  Keep in mind that your web browser limits the amount of data storage per web app, so keep the list current.

There is also a planned new section on Import/Export.  I am still waiting on Dropbox to support files transfer for web apps, but I will shortly be adding a section to allow you to export any WIF file by email, including those you have designed yourself.  This will allow you to design on the iPad, transfer the draft to the iPhone for weaving assistance, or transfer the draft to your computer drafting software to continue working on the design.  WIF ‘n Proof is not as yet able to create drafts with the sophistication of a computer drafting program, but it is a good jumping off point and allows you to design on the go.

I hope you enjoy this new section, and please let me know if you have any problems, suggestions, or comments.
