So, what are you working on right now?

I've got cotton placemats on my loom - 2/8 cotton, dark brown, medium brown and cream stripes for the warp.  I'm doing 8 mats with the cream in tabby, 4 mats with the dark brown in broken 2/2 twill, 4 mats with the medium brown in broken 2/2 twill.

The Fanny has 2/8 cotton warp with a cotton/linen slub for weft.  They're looking good so far.  :)

Have just finished with the Gibsons Landing Fibre Arts Festival so not much time for weaving recently. I did complete the Paper Challange pieces in time on my Minerva (more info on my projects page) and did a lot of spinning (wheel and drop spindle) and knitting during the FAF. Now it is time to tidy up my studio and finish the warp for a 2/8 cotton baby blanket to go on my 8 shaft Leclerc 45" - I have had it planned out for months. It will be a snowflake twill (thanks to Laura Fry's mug rugs workshop years ago and  article in Weaver's magazine and Handwoven I found in my library) and I will embroider my grand-daughter's name and bd and my initials at the fell line. I have made blankets like this for my two older grand-daughters who are now 8 and 4 and the blankets (crib size) are still holding up very well in spite of much loving use.

On my 10" Woolhouse 8 shaft loom. I have a partly woven huck lace scarf with natural cottolin warp;  weft in organic brown cotton handspun. This loom is currently part of a display mounted in the Chamber of Commerce window in our local mall. The Sunshine Coast Weavers and Spinners Guild assembled items made from natural fibres in honour of the UN Year of Natural Fibre and also promoting the GLFAF (as above)

We moved in September, so I've finally gotten my loom set up but nothing on it.  Actually I can't get to my loom - still too many boxes in the way!

I have silk scarves on the loom - threaded in a 24 shaft point twill. This is the third warp I've done with this set-up (all the rest have been sold) o I figured I should keep doing them. I had a BIG problem when I couldn't find any more of the weft yarn - Muga silk from Treenway - but then I found that Jane Stafford had some nice lightly spun tussah silk which is beautiful. I'm looking forward to finishing the warp and washing the scarves to see the difference.

i am new to Weavolution -- but not a new weaver.  I have a double-weave sampler for the OHS home study course on a table loom; just finished a scarf with handspun yarn (including dog hair) on the 4-shaft floor loom and have a warp waiting on my 12-shaft Nilart for either saddle blankets or rugs depending on what is needed.

I'm still working on stash reduction - more tea towels.  :)

 

These ones are 2/20 merc. cotton warp with 24 nm doubled for weft.  The linen is being a bit 'special needs', but the resulting cloth is worth it.  :)

It's an extremely fine singles linen.  So fine two of them are about the same grist as a 2/20 merc. cotton!

Got that warp off the loom and now have some 2/16 cotton for warp and using a 12 nm plus a 24 nm for weft on that warp.  I'll take photos later - right now it's time to make some soup for dinner.  :)

Got a picture this morning.  Warp is 2/16 cotton at 32 epi, weft is doubled linen (one 12 nm one 24 nm) ppi is 24.

I've just finished some scarves, woven with some old acrylic yarn that I bought probably 20 years ago from Spinrite.  I had planned on putting on a placemat warp but then the new Handwoven arrived in my mailbox and I saw the double weave yoga mat, so now I'm going to make cushions for my window seat using the same technique.
