I am currenrly using a Harris EMIR table-loom. I am intrested in going wider I have seen the Ashford table loom - I was wondering is there any wider looms before the floor loom - I cannot use floor loom due to my disabiity and table-loom are ideal, But i am wanting to see if there are any wide+ looms avaible. I am in the UK but willing to look at shipping option if the companies is in the EU or USA.

Have you considered Kessencih or Purrington? I know they both make very nice table looms but I don't know the size. Kessenich Looms has a web site http://www.kessenichlooms.com/table_loom.htm and Purrington Looms is at http://www.purringtonlooms.com/tablelooms.htm Good luck, Claudia

I am a pretty new RH weaver...I would love to know if there is any advantage to using Lease sticks for rigid heddle weaving ..in fact the Why of lease sticks is  confusing to me as well.  anyone care to explain(if it does not take to long?)

The short of it -it maintains the cross while threading a floor or table loom, which keeps the warp threads in order. I think rigid heddle looms are warped differently. So I'm not sure if you would need them.

lease sticks on my RH loom as a rule since I mainly direct warp it - however you could use them when indirect warping the RH to hold the cross while you thread the slots and holes.

I can assure you that Purrington can produce a custom table loom to fit your exact specifications.  Each loom is handcrafted.  There is currently available a 24" 16H loom.  It is not quite completed, but could be completed and ready to ship within 90 days.  It normally takes about 1 year to get a new loom.  The cost of the 24" 16H w/ 1 reed and 500 heddles is $1750 plus shipping.  Visit the website at www.purringtonlooms.com or contact Bruce directly at [email protected] to discuss your wants/needs.

Kessinich makes floor looms that you can work with your hands only, if that is why you want to stick with table looms.  They make up to 45" looms, offer sectional beams (I think that's what you mean by direct warp), and I'm sure he would be happy to customize a loom in any way you wanted.

I used a Harris table loom while in London. It was not very user-friendly. The other table looms at the shop were much, much nicer to use. Front levers are better than side levers, for starters.

This link should show you the table looms available at Handweavers studio. (They place ads here at Weavo.) You can probably find a used table loom for a lower price.
