I'm warping FTB for the first time, and am hoping some experienced weavers out there will confirm that, when threading from behind the harnesses, the threading draft should be turned upside down and read from left to right.

I think the draft faces the same way but is upside down because your position changes from the front to the back of the loom. Going from left to right depends also on handed mess. Since I'm left handed I'll leave that part of your question alone! Fredi

Reading a draft sheet, I believe the treadle tie-up is on the top right or bottom right. The threading is at the top or the bottom of the draft sheet. It assumes your looking from the breast beam to the back of the loom and looking from above. It depends on your perspective (seating) at the harnasses when threading. So if your facing toward the front, then the draft is turned 180. I wasn't quite awake here this morning when making the last sentence, so I deleted it here.

Thanks very much for responding..I truly appreciate it.  I was finally able to determine that the draft would indeed be turned 180. Your work is really beautiful, by the way...really like those intricate patterns.

As ReedGuy mentioned, yes, you'll turn the threading draft 180 degrees (upside down).

I nearly always warp front-to-back. I don't really think about 'turning' the draft, since I'm just replicating the draft and it will look exactly the same to me when I sit at the beam as it would to a back-to-front warper. Shaft #1 is still shaft #1. It's my point-of-view that changes, not the draft.

That being said, I can see that turning the draft 'upside down' might make someone else's process easier.

Good Luck and Have Fun.
