Hi All, I am looking for a draft for a warp faced pile / velvet pile draft. I am planning to make a rug and the only one found thus far has been for a three shaft draft. I have an 8 shaft dobby loom so open to other suggestions. Thanks Joanne

You most likely do not need to use more shafts. Dobby looms do not need to be threaded on all available shafts.

For warp pile weaves, you need only the tabby backing and heddles to carry the pile warp.

I have only used 3 shafts when sampling for looped pile, terry cloth, on a countermarche.
