Hi,

I'm new to posting even though I have been following this group for a while and have been teaching myself to backstrap weave since last summer.  I decided to post because with the new project i am working i decided to take the plunge and work with a finer thread but I am having a problem getting the warp tension even. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to fix this or how to make so this doesn't happen again?

Hi Natasha,

I had a similar problem with my warp and had to retie the loose threads up top at the stick that is tied on to the table in my case.  I don't have pictures to show you, wish I did.

Do you have any photos of what you are dealing with?  You can read/see how to add photos to your comments HERE in the Help section of Weavolution.

Natasha,

Even warping will give you a nice evenly tensioned warp. If sections of warp or certain warps are loose you can put a dowel, pencil, bamboo skewer etc, depending on just how loose the threads are, under the slack threads and then tie the dowel to your far loom bar.

we would love to see what you have been doing since last summer. Do you have pictures?
