Classic crackle can be woven with three shuttles, two different "ground" colors and one "pattern", but I used the colors in the warp so that I could weve with one shuttle. In some sense this draft is not really turned, only the color sequence is turned from the weft to the warp. The threading and treadling of the blocks remains the same. Colored the incidentals in black.

Block substitution works in Weavepoint, if you make your Blocks file to include the incidentals. Therefore, the final four-block design will be 8 blocks in the profile (4 of crackle blocks and 4 of incidentals) .

Used an additional 4 shafts to thread the block of the borders thinking I would be able to weave them in plain weave, but the take up was very different in the two areas, so I only wove one square bread cloth that way. Probably used about 10-12 colors of 8/2 cotton in the warp. Sett was 24 epi. Next time may increase to 26 or 28 and just keep it to four shafts.
