My husband took pity on our guild when he saw the state of our state fair demo loom last August. So, when the fair was over we took the loom home and he refurbished and updated it. Once again, it's a beautiful Maple 4-shaft Gilmore loom (originally made in 1977). What a pleasure to work on something that works so smoothly. I (of course, HA HA HA) was forced to test it out before we returned it for use at the fair. So, I tried out a chenille warp project for the first time and then wound a merino wool warp and wove three other scarves; one loopy mohair (that the camera does not do justice to the beautiful colors), one gray alpaca (for my hubby) and one chenille scarf using the wool warp. The loom worked perfectly on all the different yarns, so sad to see it go out of our house.
