Materials and the loom are provided for your use in the class.
Tapestry weaving on a frame loom - Tapestry is a weaving technique
which lets you express your ideas and to be very creative. Weaving
tapestry on a frame loom is fun and very portable. We will begin with
weaving basic tapestry techniques and after learning to weave curved
shapes, we will weave following a cartoon. Some small woven tapestries
(including one from Sweden) will be interesting for you to see and
perhaps inspire you.
No weaving experience necessary.
Friday: Warping the frame loom and beginning a sampler. We will weave several stripe techniques
and then vertical shapes of squares and rectangles.We will begin weaving the diagonal.
Saturday:
Practice the diagonal shapes and weaving a curve. We will also cover
making string heddles, using tapestry bobbins and make a cartoon.
Sunday: We will weave following a cartoon.

Fee: $325 (Includes: Use of Loom, Warp: 12/6 cotton rug warp, Weft: Faro wool yarn & Blunt pointed needle with large eye.)
