I have gotten a swedish weaving book from our guild library and want to try a draft.

I can read the draft all right, but am uncertain about the translation of some of the directions.  Can anyone help with the following?

bredd 96cm, tradantal 1152, sked 60/2.   I'm guessing that this is width, number of ends and reed size, but want to be sure.

I am thinking that the tex 28/2 mercerized cotton warp (merceriserat bomullsgarn) and weft they are referring to is about equivalent to our 20/2. I appreciate any assistance.

You are correct with the numbers for the warp.  30/2 cotton has a TEX number 20x2.  The 37x2 TEX mercerized cotton number is 16/2 cotton.  Maybe those numbers will help.

The usual way to give reed size and sleying is to give the reed size as sked 60/10, followed by a comma and the threading (# of ends/heddle)/sleying (# of ends/dent) as (for instance) 1-2. My guess at the "sked 60/2" would be a "shorthand" for that.

It is extremely rare to see Tex as the yarn numbering system - many years ago there was a serious try to do that, but it never "took". (It is quite common in Finnish books, though) At one point I had lots of 28/2 Nel cotton, so I know it was used/sold in Swe some 20 yrs ago.
