Hello Weavolution!

Oliver, TJ and I are now back in the US. We are primarily visiting family we haven't seend in several years! We will be in Wisconsin for another week and a half and then will travel on to Missouri. For those who don't know, Oliver grew up in Wisconsin and later Arizona. As my profile says, I grew up in Missouri before moving to the UK. If you think we might be in your area, please send us a message we would love to meet members in person!

We are still regularly checking the site, but you may not see as many posts from us, particularly me! We will be visiting many current and potential advertisers in order to help grow Weavolution. We're also working on several other projects.

One of these projects is preparing the site for future updates. Several folks have been writing to ask for old/outdated content to be deleted. If you know of a group/forum which is no longer needed and does not provide useful information for new users, please do let us know. If you have suggestions for moving content to a different location, perhaps a group is no longer active, but has really useful information we could organize in another manner, please let us know.

MAFA is coming up and Weavolution will play an integral role in updating visitors. We are glad the site is being used in this way and we are working to finalize a few site tweeks before the big event.

We hope you all are having a great summer so far,

Erica, Oliver and TJ :)

I was born in Wisconsin, and my family now lives in AZ! Where in Wisconsin? Where in Arizona? I envision a trail of Weavo postcards at weaving and knitting shops along your route...

I hope it's not too hot and sticky in the Midwest yet — and you have a great road trip. (I'll bet the new grandparents are particularly thrilled with your visit.)

Wow, have fun!

Hello Sally!

I grew up in Waushara County, WI near Wautoma. When I was about 16 I moved out to Kingman AZ to help my grandmother recover after a surgery. It was only going to be for the summer, but I ended up staying to finish High School. My grandma has since passed, but I still have quite a few family members out there.

Its a very small world we live in, isn't it? Where abouts have you lived?

The weather here in WI is beautiful actually, not unbearably hot. Hopefully it will not be much hotter in Missouri when we get there, but that is probably wishful thinking!

And the grandparents are LOVING having TJ around to cuddle! :-)

NOT! ;-)

I was born in Plymouth. (Think of those Sargento cheese commercials—population 700! However, I think it has grown a bit since I lived there.) You will be close to Fond du lac! If you stop, give a Weavo hello to Sara.

Alas, my family doesn't live any place exotic like Kingman (with wild burros roaming the streets, gold in the hills, and wagon wheel ruts from the westward journey if you know where to look.) My sibs are all in the valley suburbs with 1 mile gridded neighborhoods and big box stores. No burros. Poodles!

As for places to see in MO, you guys might already know this. I just happened to learn while reading an old issue of PWC (Prairie Wool Companion) that Madelyn's original weaving school was located just outside Fayette, MO. The building is still there, and she told me she recently had it re-roofed. Inky, Bandit, and I plan to visit the location this fall. (FYI, she no longer owns the property, so don't go knocking on the door.) But I hope you get a chance to check it out roadside. (Post a family photo if you do!)

FYI, Here's the crop duster's view from Google:

Happy Motoring!
