Hi

I am a realitivly new weaver.  I want to make dishtowels, which I have the pattern for. Pattern calls for 8/2 cottone for warp and weft.  I have 10/2 cotton and would like to use that for the weft - I intend to use the 8/2 for the warp - any suggestions on what changes I might have to make doing this.

Thank you in advance.

Irene.

You don't say what epi or weave structure the pattern calls for.  If it is plain weave at 20 epi, you may wish to increase that to 24.  The slightly thinner yarn might beat in more tightly in the weft.  OTOH, if you are ok with that, yes, you can probably substitute the 10/2 for weft.  :)

Thanks Laura,

I am looking a few of them - most either plain weave or 2/2 twill.  EPI 18 or 20.

I'd go with at least 20, perhaps 24 if substituting the 10/2, then.
