Sheep-to-shawl 2009 - sample

- made a sample shawl for the sheep dog trial competition to get the size and timing worked out  - wove two shots plain weave @ end and followed pattern in the middle -  on loom length wove 72" - off loom this collapsed to 60"!   - the warp - wool bouclé - was very stretchy! 

- finished ends with overhand knots (4 doubled ends in one bundle) and cut fringe to 4.5”

- hand wash warm, dry flat - finished length 52"  - quite a bit of take-up and shrinkage  - finished size 52"x17.5" plus fringe each end

- shawl has a nice light feel

- two pictures of the sample before washing and one of the sample washed with the "real thing" just after it came off the loom
