Blue Faced Leicester is lovely wool that makes nice, soft yarns. Variegated yarns I’ve found to be very difficult to knit with, because of the pooling which will occur on parts of equal rows (e.g. torso), but differ in other parts (e.g. arms) with other row-counts. But now I’ve found a perfect way to use the pooling - weaving! This scarf was made from the start for Baritono and used some of his yarn-stash. The mottled yarn in beautiful colors turned into a perfectly subtle pattern for a scarf; - in fact, I’ve decided to make more scarfs, using this effect. I’m considering mixing several different colorways, perhaps using variations from within a group of similar, as some Blue Moon Fiber Arts colorways come with several siblings in “clans”.
