Hello Everyone,

Weavolution has several nifty features, one of my favorites is relative links. I know this "jargon" may not mean much to most people. A relative link is one that references the site you are using. What this means to you is that if you are inserting a link to Weavolution content on our site, you don't need the Http://www.weavolution.com. You only need to put the reference that comes after the main URL. For example, I just references the classes page in a comment when I clicked on the link button, I simply typed /classes in the URL bar and the relative link system does the rest! You may not refer to the classes page often, but if you want to direct someone else to another user profile the relative link is /weaver/User name. So if I wanted to refer a user to Weavolution Co-Founders Claudia Segal or Tien Chu, I simply need to put in /weaver/claudia-segal or /weaver/tien. Note Claudia has a space in her username. URLs can not contain spaces so Weavolution uses a dash to replace the space in the URL.

Projects? Project URLs use the following naming convention /project/username/projectname. So if I wanted to link to Tien's Pheonix Rising Solstice Card the relative or short link is /project/tien/pehonix-solstice-card. Another project that recently caught my eye is Thistle and Rose's Taquete Experiment.

Groups? Group URLs use group/groupname. So Daily Weaverliness is /group/daily-weaverliness and Textile Terminology is /group/textile-terminology

Forums? You've probably guessed are /forum/forum name So Chat! is /forum/chat Posts within forums are a bit more tricky as they end in a computer generated number.

Armed with this information you can link away in posts and comment without opening another browser window or tab!

Happy Posting,

Erica & Oliver
