Rag Mats

The dog bowl mats were made for Buford the beagle who slops water from his dog bowl all over the floor.  They were made using old t-shirts cut in a continuous strip about 3/4" wide.  I didn't bother with worrying about any printing on the t-shirts..I just wove that in..so that is the source of the strange spots of color. 

The bath mat was done on the same warp, using an old fitted queen-size bed sheet for the weft.  One sheet made a bath mat 36 x 26. 

This was my first attempt at rag weaving and I definately need to work on making the selvedges neater.  I found that the t-shirt material packed in much easier than the sheet material.  A temple was also very helpful.
