I hope this is in the right place and I need an aswer fairly quickly, I am very new weaver. I havent' even started yet but I'm looking to buy this loom on craigslist for 250. I think it's a steal,  The guy on the phone didn't know anything about it.  Please help. I go look at it tomorrow or Monday.   mystery loom

Do you have more compete photos of the loom? From top to bottom, and from the front? It looks pretty good from what you show, but as far as identification...

For 250, this could be a steal.  It looks like it has at least 8 shafts, and looks like a Scandinavian style loom.  What is more important that ID is whether it is complete or not.  If you can do more pics (show the whole loom in the pics) we can help.

Thank you Sally for guiding me through my purchase of this loom.  I recently aquired a pdf manual that goes along with this loom.  However I'm still having trouble figuring out what I need to tie the the treddles to the lams with.  Can anyone help me figure it out?  I think it's some sort of cable, but maybe I can use strings, or texsolv?  I have no idea

Most people now use texsolv, but there are still plenty of looms tied up with plain old 1/8" cord.  Frankly, I find tying up with a loop of cord and a snitch knot easier than fiddling with those Texsolv buttons, but it's your choice!
