Hi.  It has been a long time since I've posted.

I want to weave some linen shirting and turn it into an "Irish Grandfather's Shirt."  This is a standard man-type shirt with no collar.  I know that I could use a regular shirt pattern, but I am curious if there is a real Irish Grandfather's shirt pattern out there somewhere that I could use.  So far my search has come up empty.

google Folkwear sewing patterns and see what they have - they do historic type clothing patterns. I am betting they have a collarless shirt.

Watch out with Folkwear.

I did some nice linsey woolsey for my husband and the river shirt pattern I tried to use wasn't made to fit anyone near his proportions and am still trying to find a use for a few yards of otherwise nice fabric.

Folkwear for several reenactment costumes at the museum and you do have to watch measurements - but I find that true with most commercially made patterns. Use the patterna s a base and adjust as necessary. Simplicity, Vogue, McCall's , etc. also have costume / reenactment patterns you can take a look at as well.

I agree, Sara.  Folkware patterns are tricky, and somewhat counter-intuitive.

I did find a pattern from an Amish place...  I think friendspatterns.net???  It was what I was looking for.
