I am a new weaver and just purchased an Oxaback Lilla loom from someone on ebay. It was in pieces and the seller was not the one who disassembled it. He thought everything was there, but he couldn't be sure. I certainly couldn't be sure, as there were no directions, and I have only used jack looms. It appears to be fairly old as the loom came with a VHS copy of Dress your loom the Swedish Way, can't watch it as no VHS player unfortunately.

My questions are:

1. Is there an online parts guide so I can see if I have everything? Here is the link to the item (was on ebay but I made him an off ebay offer as he was within driving distance...if anyone with experience can look and see if the parts are mostly all there.

2. Is there an online manual so I can reassemble, or can I purchase on for a loom of this age?

3. There was one reed, which was very rusted. It it even worth my time to try to clean it?

4. There are some darkened areas on the wood-how whould I clean and protect the wood?

5. I got a very large warping mill, new in the box, along with the loom. The assembly instructions are not in English-can I get English instructions anywhere? I'm actually not even sure what company it is. Instructions state AB Gunnar Anderssons Vavskedsfabrik, monteringsanvisning for varpa Nr 95

I know this is very longwinded, but I appreciate any help I can get.

Contact Sara Von Trescow at Woolgathers, she sells the Lilla and may be able to assist.  I recently purchased a Lilla from her and it was smooth and easy, not sure where my instructions went to otherwise I would email you privately to help.

If you get a copy of Big Book of Weaving by Lundell, you should be able to figure out the loom. The Scandinavian looms are all basically alike in the way they are assembled and used. From the photos on eBay, the warping mill was originally sold by Becky Ashenden at Vav Stuga (shipped from Sweden to her). Gunnar Anderssons Vavskedsfabrik is now Glimakra. Anderssons made looms and weaving equipment, but not for several years. The mill should be very easy to put together, and even with Swedish instructions, there should be clear diagrams. The table warping mill still has the same #95 on it: http://www.vavsked.se/eng/vavredskap-varpning.html Sara knows about Oxaback looms. Toni

The lilla has some parts that screw together - I almost put one in the wrong place, if I can find my papers I'll write down.

That is wonderful of you Sara, very happy with my Lilla, it is my go-to loom for smaller projects and a delight to weave on.  I saw a note on your website regarding single unit drawloom.  Looking forward to hearing more!

I see that you might have the assembly directions for a Oxaback loom.  I just brought my used loom home...of course unassembled.  Would you be willing to send the assembly instructions, in English, to me, as well?  This loom is 12 shaft, 12 treadle countermarch, 48".  I am upgrading from a jack loom and this is my first "big girl" loom.  Thanks so much, Pat Adams

Sara Von Tresckow is the US distributor for the Oxaback looms. She sells the DVD with the assembly instructions you will need. You can message her directly, and she will get back to you.
