I've come across an eight shaft Oregon Trail loom for $800. I haven't yet going to see it and the sellers know little about it. I can't find much on the net about it. Did they stop manufacturing these a long time ago?  Were they jack looms? It has a low castle, does that mean small shed? It has been in a basement for ten years and appears to have been warped long before that.  I will likely go see it this weekend, but don't know if I will be able to try it out.  So, I am trying to gather information before I go.  Thanks all, Jo Raymond

my understanding is that the Oregon Trail loom was the Walling loom, het manufacturing of which was purchased by Russell Groff and renamed.  I weave on a 8 shaft Walling Loom at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in San Diego.  They are jack looms. Marty

but that probably does mean it is likely to be a jack loom.

Good luck with your adventure in checking out this loom!
