North American indian inspiration

The photo that you can see next to the weaving inspired the designs on this piece. I took that photo at the National Museum of the American Indian in DC. I could not get cose enough to the piece to see how it had been woven but I made an adaptation of the main motif to pebble weave and then designed two other motifs using the basic elements of the design - diamonds, curls and spokes. This is a piece I am using to test the Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton-it is beautiful thread for this kind of weaving.

This piece is wide enough to be able make several small purses or I may leave it as a hanging.
