Hi Everyone,

I wanted to tell you about an exciting new feature coming soon (a relative term) to WIF 'n Proof.  I am hard at work adding a section to allow you to enter a draft, whether from a magazine, a book, or just something in your mind, directly to the program with out importing a WIF file.  It's looking good so far, and I will keep you posted.

I'm very intrigued!

You might know me as your first Android user. I'm happy to see a group for this handy little app.

Welcome Badfaerie.  Remind me, which Android device are you using?  Did you have any problems installing WIF 'n Proof?

Just downloaded the program and bought it for both my ipod and my ipad.  Glad to have found you - this looks like a wonderful tool.  I'm looking forward to your update that allows entering a draft.

Thanks for all your hard work!

I'm the one with the original Droid that you've been emailing with for the last few weeks.

Hi -

I just bought WIF 'n Proof for my iPad a couple of weeks ago. So far, I'm having a good time with it. Looking forward to new features!

I installed WIF 'n Proof earlier this week and have not had much chance to use it, but I did show a small study group the demo version.  None of them have either smart phone or an iPad, but they found it interesting and could see that it would be helpful.

I'd be interested in real ways people use the software.  I downloaded the trial and it worked well on my iphone.  I just couldn't think of practical ways to use it.  Being able to enter in a draft would be a good upgrade but those of you who have it please report what you use it for to help my imagination!  Regards  Deb Mc

I'm bad for ADHD. I can barely count to four. I get all "One, Two, crap, what's the cat doing?... three, Oh, I need to get rid of that cobweb.... where was I?"

So when threadin heddles I keep the phone on the tool tray and hit next thread after each one for complicated patterns, or for each thread in a group I just threaded. That way I always have a record of where I was to come back too.

I haven't done any complicated treadling repeats since I got it. But I figure this will replace my system of having my threadling printed on a paper taped to my castle, a knitting counter for the # of repeats I've done and a post-it flag thinging, or post it note with tic marks, for what treadle I last pressed when I get up from the loom.

I did a bit of a complex threading and it was great. Why is it the phone always rings when you forgot to take it to the loom with you? Anyway, I had my iphone on my bench next to me and tapped it each time I threaded the loom. No errors! Nailed a complex threading the first time. Between Wifn Proof and my augot reed hook, I am error free. Claudia

Congratulations for this new App. I was waiting for such kind of development since I got my first iPad when it was released a year and half ago.

I surely will try it soon!

I enjoyed using WIF'n Proof to thread two looms with Blooming Leaf patterns.  I could handle the complex threading, even while people came by to see what I was doing (I weave in a studio in an historic building and we get a lot of traffic when there is a Farmer's Market going on outside).  Saturday, I used it to start weaving.  It was wonderful to be able to keep track of a complex treadling sequence without having to worry about marking my place on a sheet of paper.  So much easier and cleaner to push a button on the iPhone than to keep marking out and erasing pencil marks.  I especially like using it for unweaving when I see an error back a ways (one of my shafts became unhitched from the treadle and I didn't see the error for several picks).

I will love it when we can put in a new draft. I have problems bringing in wifs for some reason. Maybe because i have probems just saving one and understanding how it all works. Would like to see when a new end is threaded, perhaps instead of an arrow a highlighted line through the whole row or column. Im really excited for this program. I am going to do a little presentation on software for my weaving guild and cant wait to add this to my presentation if thats ok. Its not until feb or march i think. Hugs D

Hi D

Email at [email protected] for help with importing a wif file.

It's certainly ok to present it to your guild. :)  I'm grateful for any help getting the word out.
