I am currently restoring an old loom similar in style to the Glimakra. It needs a new cloth beam and a method to operate the shafts. I am posting pics of the top of the loom where the counterbalance support or jacks would go. Can anyone identify how this loom would have operated? I was thinking as it had only one set of lams and with the little hooks and metal pins maybe it used elastic or springs? Not sure of the wood but it has a rich cherry hue! Eventually this old gal wll get drall pulleys and a 10 shaft damask attachment with 6 shafts and 6 new lams.
