Hi everyone, I am wanting some help identifying the manufacturer of my loom. I purchased this at an auction recently as a bag of pieces and assembled it myself. I was lucky enough to also receive in the lot the matching weaving stool. What I know about this loom is that is a counterbalance 4 shaft loom. It has been either stained or its timber is very dark almost black in colour. The reed in place has a weaving width of 85cm and it has a carved M on one of the back beams. I have no further information and I would love to find out where it came from. Here in Australia all our looms are either hand made or imported. I have several looms but this one I am most interested in finding out some history on. I hope someone can help

It's lovely.  I'm sure you'll have lots of enjoyment using it.  :)

No clues as to manufacturer.

It's beautiful!

That second small picture with the "3" on it - what is that?   It might be the key to what loom this is.   Could you post a larger copy of that picture?

Hi Sally, yes it is beautiful, the dark colour is what drew me to the loom originally, when I assembled it I was very excited....I love this loom and would love to find out some more info.  The second small picture is of a bar in the back of the loom, I have no idea what its for except to hold their makers mark, it is not a back beam and its square which is odd.  I will add a bunch of new pictures so you can get a better idea of the loom, I will also add some measurements too.

36" wide, 35" deep x 46" H.
