First time for such a complex (for me!) weave structure (echo) using all 8 shafts and all 10 treadles! I was basically playing... but "sort of" following Joan Sheridan's loom bench cushion project published in the November/December 2008 issue of Handwoven (page 44). I did not use any commercial fabric (as published in the project) for the sides... instead, I used all the fabric I had created (with the treadling 2 draft) for the top and sides (seamed on the short ends). I am by no means a seamstress (I sew under duress... as in, "honey, would you hem my jeans?"), and followed instructions for a box-pillow cushion in an ancient (1988) Singer book on sewing projects for the home! I wanted a bench cushion for my small Harrisville Designs rocking bench - and with purchased foam (salvaged foam from a cheap over-size seat cushion), I created a 14 x 8.5 cushion. One plus is that $7 cushion from Wal-Mart had nice "grippy" material which I also salvaged for the bottom piece of the cushion cover. Now, the cushion stays on the bench whenever I stand up - yay!
