This is my "first best" project on the rigid heddle. I used #10 cotton crochet thread for warp and weft. I underestimated the shrinkage, but it's sturdy and the weave is fairly even, yay! My daughter swears by this construction, as it dries the dishes, the hands, and itself very quickly.
