Dyed wool with koolaid for the warp. Don't know the wool as it came with the loom and is unlabeled. I was going to use the wool in its original color (a lemonade yellow) for weft but didn't like how the colors looked together. Found some black wool, again unlabeled, and it looks much better. Warped the loom with little trouble except that I am very slow at threading and sleying. Thought I'd done it well but found 6 twisted threads. Each one showed up after fixing and re-tensioning! I checked after each one but this wool turned out to be very sticky and the twists just didn't show up!
Only have about 12 more inches to weave but things just came to a crashing stop, literally. One of my counterbalance rods just pulled out the support pin/screw on one side and dumped the shafts. I guess I'll need to figure out a new roller tie-up system. Just once I'd like to do a project that goes smoothly from start to finish, just to see what it feels like!
