I recently purchased "The Big Book of Weaving - Handweaving in the Swedish Tradition: Techniques, Pattern, Designs and Materials"  I just want to thank Joanne Hall for recommending this book.  As a new weaver, I find this book very informative.  As a visual learner, I especially like the graphics!

Thanks Sandy, this book has a lot of fans.  And there are a couple weavers I know who are using this book as a teacher, weaving each of the projects, in order.

Yes, one of the first books I purchased on weaving. I think either Joanne or Sara suggested it. There are a good many types of weave in there and it is the one book that helped me understand drafts. But it has excellent illustrations on how stuff works and trouble shooting, which I like even better than photos. :)
