Jacquard Sample

 This sample was woven during a Jacquard workshop I took at the Montreal Center for Contemporary Textiles in August 2009.

I scanned a color image of the view from our sailboat on Lake Champlain into Photoshop to turn it into a black and white image. I then manipulated it with the Pointcarre jacquard program to limit the values to 12 and applied a satin weave structure to the values from lightest to darkest.

The last image is a simimulation of the entire image if woven. Finished size would be 21x42” for the 2 images.
