Hi - I love working with fiber.  I weave, knit and spin.  I've also recently gotten into micromacrame.  I obtained a little backstrap loom through the purchase of another loom - I'd love to learn how to use it.

I don't know what micromacrame is. is it teeny projects with fine yarn?

Could we see what your backstrap loom looks like? Did it come witha rigid heddle? How about a backstrap?Please post a photo here if you can so we can help you get started.

I saw this is one of the busiest groups on Weavolution so I joined to meet everyone and learn more about Backstrap weaving.  I have never done it before but am very curious.

Hi Cara, yes we are a busy group, and we live all around the world so there is usually at least one of us here 24 hours a day! We have instructions, lots of photos, and a couple of weave-alongs, so find yourself some dowels, a belt, some string and rubber bands,  my favourites are cotton shoe laces, and a hitching post and get started!

We are all at different stages of weaving, so don't be embarrassed about asking questions - there is bound to be one of us who has just had exactly the same problem, and I think we are a pretty friendly bunch. There are no weaving police; we are all learning and happy to share our knowledge around.
