Hello!

I am looking for any information on a John A. Thulin & Co loom made in Sweden.  I am inheriting my Grandmother's loom and will be having it shipped from Sweden to the States.  I can not find any information online about this company or the loom.  Does anyone have in info or know where I can find a manual?  I am a new weaver and currently have a Nilus Leclerc that was handed down to me....it has been great fun learning and I'm so excited to have my Grandmother's loom...but the size of it is very overwhelming!

Thanks for the help!

Here are some photos of a Thulin loom - beautiful counterbalance loom!

'Bobcycle' on Weavolution mentions just finishing setting one up.

From the pictures, it's a standard Scandinavian counterbalance.  You can get information from The Big Book of Weaving by Laila Lundell, or from publications/videos from Joanne Hall (Glimakra USA) or Becky Ashenden (VavStuga).

We have a John S Thulin & Co (Norrkoping, Sweden) loom at the Weavers Barn at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista. It was made in the 1880s. We also have two Swedish weavers who have enjoyed weaving on it! Don't have any other history or information but we would be interested in learning anything we can about this loom company.
