I have had a loom for a couple of years now but haven't used it much, been thru lots of selling and buying until I found what I want, I started out with a LeClerc Mira Loom, all I wanted to weave was rugs and this one wasn't quite heavy enough, so I kept it and bought a new to me Union 36, so then I had 2 looms, the guy I bought the Union from called me and wanted to buy it back, so I sold it back to him, then I sold my Mira thinking I was done with weaving, but THEN I found a Union 36 for sale near by and bought it. DONE SELLING now and think I am done buying unless the PERFECT Studio Loom becomes available nearby. Now I am concentrating on weaving. My "project" folder is JeanneJ's Stuff so take a look at the 2 rugs I have woven so far. The first one I made was for a Wedding Present for my Daughter, she loves it, the 2nd one I made is for my kitchen and I love it, now to the get the Union warped up for some denim rugs FUN FUN FUN. Nice to meet everyone :) fun meeting people who have the same interests as you do.

to the wonderful world of weaving. You will find the folks here on Weavo to be a knowledgeable and friendly group. Looking forward to seeing what you create!

HarpStrings

I've been reading Weavo for probably about a month, just joined this past week. I'm a pre-beginner, my first-ever loom arrived yesterday, a 24" Kromski Harp. It's still sitting in the carton because I was afraid I'd mess up the assembly if I tried to do it last night when I was really tired; I can't wait to get to it this evening! (Well, first-ever loom if you don't count weaving pot-holders as a child.) I don't have any stash or projects entered here yet. I've been a knitter for around 40 yrs or so; I'm on Ravelry as knitsnknishes. Real life name Susan.

Looked at your rugs, very nice work!  I'm new at this too, just getting ready to start on my third rug - learning as I go.....

Hi, I'm Andrew and am very new to weaving and to Weavolution. Bought a Kromski 24" Harp a week ago and have done a couple of test learning pieces which will probably be scarves or table runners depending on how the wet finishing goes as well as having done an inkle band on a home made inkle loom just prior to the Harp arriving which was my first ever attempt at weaving. The second scarf which has a plain fawn warp and home dyed rainbow weft came off the loom last night so I will now think of what to warp for the next project.

Welcome to all the new members! I'm glad you've joined us. I really enjoyed looking through the projects that have been posted so far! I look forward to seeing you in other forums and threads and getting to know you better!

Welcome from yet another newbie! I am in much the same position as Harpstrings except that my looms are older. I have a 42" 4 harness counterbalance Gallinger floor loom, a Lily tape loom, and a little Ostlind 2 harness table loom. I am thinking about trying to build 2 more harnesses for my Ostlind, but its history is giving me pause. Apparently, they were pretty much only made during the '30s as part of the National Recovery Act.

is that there are a lot of lurkers that don't necessarily post. (I know, because I meet them at conferences and they admit to peeking!) You can bet they are checking out your projects — so post away and lure them into participating!
