i downloaded a pattern from 2016 november heddlecraft magazine which included a doubleweave draft.  i can't understand a thing on it.  can anyone tell me what i am looking at?  or maybe where i could get a pattern readable for someone not so young and smart...

Ellen - The doubleweave information in that issue was by Jennifer Moore.  My impression of that article was that it was more of an advanced look at doubleweave using color and blocks rather than just a basic primer. In fact in the article she refers readers new to doubleweave to her book from Interweave Press, The Weavers Studio: Doubleweave.  Jennifer does frequent workshops around the country.  She will be at the Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild, in Atlanta, GA, January 13-15, 2018 for a three day workshop, Doubleweave Diversity.  Information can be found at our website, http://chgweavers.org.  I'm taking the workshop myself because I've never done any doubleweave.
