I'm using a rigid heddle loom for my HalloWeave project, and I'm wondering if anyone else in this group is using one for the event. Which (or should I say "Witch") group are you in? I'm in Witch's Brew. I am doing shifu, a Japanese style of weaving with paper yarn, using hand-twisted kozo paper for the weft and hand-dyed silk for the warp. Would love to hear about other HalloHeddler projects!

Your project sounds very impressive!

I'm in the seamstress group. I haven't posted my projects yet. One will be a little girl's apron - the cottolin/cotton fabric for that is wet finished and ready to be cut into. I just have to build up the nerve to cut it. The second project, with an assortment of washable wool yarn from Halcyon, is now on my loom ready for some sampling first; and then I hope to make fabric to sew into a tote bag.

for my project - I am in Double Dars and Spook of the Loom - I started out in spook to banish the ghost of double weave and decided I needed ot be in the other group as well. I have done a sampler of various doubleweave textures, etc. and now am getting ready to start a doubleweave wall hanging for my dare. It too will be a sampler but more organized, neat and pretty than my first attempt - at least that is what I am telling myself! I am working out of Jane Patrick's book. I have only been weaving for a couple of months so this is quite daring for me!

. . .on winning the scavenger hunt, endorph! You might be new to weaving, but you certainly know your way around this site.

It was fun exploring various pages on the site that I had not ventured onto yet - can't wait to get my prize!

I'm in Spook of the Loom. I dared myself to try using various yarns and ribbon as a warp.

and the warp is spread ready for weaving to begin on my Spook of the loom/DoubleDare project. It is a doubleweave sampler wall hanging. the warping went surprisingly fast and easy so I am hoping the weaving will as well. I will post progress photos on my project page.

I'm in the "Revenge of the Shrunken Heads" and "Spook of the Loom" groups.  For the latter, I'm unearthing my long-buried 8-shaft loom (frightening process!), and for the former I'm weaving a scarf that will ruffle with differential shrinkage (I hope).

I'm sampling for the Shrinky-ruffly project with my RH loom -- but will probably weave the final scarf with my 8-shaft loom.

There's a lot of overlap in the groups.  For example, my projects could also nicely fit into "Witch's Brew", as the yarns are all handspun and the majority of them were also dyed in my kitchen.  And I very nearly chose a doubleweave structure, too -- which would have nudged me into the "Double Dares".

Fun, fun, fun! :-)

pics of my rigid heddle double weave wall hanging on my projects page. I am about halfway done. Some of the patterns I've tried I like, some of them not so much. As I near the end I am thinking of various ways to finish the actual wallhanging - maybe some beads on the fringe, a macrame hanger, maybe nothing special at all - we'll see what happens when the "spirits" move me to finish this double dare / spook of the loom project

I'm also using my RH in Spook of the Loom to attempt some pickup stick and hand manipulated weaves, like Leno and Brooks Bouquet and Danish medallions.
