I wove this for a friend who picked the colors. It is a straight draw twill on 16 shafts which necessitates some kind of selvedge tweaking. I needed to prevent the long floats on the selvedges that you get with straight draw twill on 16 shafts. I wanted to use my fly shuttle so a floating selvedge wouldn't work. So I borrowed 4 shafts to weave a basket weave edging. Basket weave is preferable for an edging on twill because one can beat the twill correctly without getting the ruffle-y edge that one might get plain weave. But oops - no floating selvedge so my 2-pick-per-shed basket weave edge needs tweaking. So I borrow 2 more shafts from my 16-shaft (now 12-shaft) twill to add just two ends of plain weave on each selvedge - 2 ends won't cause the edge to ripple. It worked.
