The cable slips. We've tightened and tightened again. The cable ... Can a cable that won't straighten out on the drum, cause the friction brake on the warp beam to slip?

If the cable is not laying flat or going around the drum in the wrong direction it will not hold.

Thank you! Solution: right direction, wrong cable. We installed a new wrinkle and crimp-free cable, and all is well.
