No, it is actually quite light.  I used a fine cotton yarn.  It probably looks heavy because I have wet finished it and it shrunk to make a nice tight weave.  I expected that though and wove it a little large to accomodate the shrinkage.  Thanks for the compliment. - Dave

This is an interesting draft.  There are half inch floats on the front, but the back is solid (see third picture) so it is a solid fabric.
