I want to make felted wool cloth, like craft felt only wool not synthetic. Could someone point me in the direction of a book or pattern that would tell me how to warp my loom to get this type of felt material when I felt it?   I want the finished cloth to be useable for quilting applique projects (cut edge can be button hole stitched down as it doesn't ravel).

Thank You

Felt is usually a non-woven fabric that is made by interlocking the scales on wool fibres. Layers of wool batting or locks of fleece are laid out at right angles to each other, then wetted with hot soap solution and rolled around a roller which is rocked back and forth for some time. This causes the fibres to creep up on each other and interlock. That's a very brief description, so you'll need to research the technique. You can make felt much faster this way than by weaving or knitting a fabric, then felting it.
