Notes

This "faux" woven scarf is actually not woven, but sewn. The how-to is available via JoAnn's and uses Sulky wash-away stabilizer as the base. Once finished with your surface embellishment, you soak the piece in warm water to remove the stabilizer. For a cheaper alternative, you can use wax paper instead, but it is a lot more tedious to pick away the paper from the stitching lines.

Directions can be found at: www.joann.com/joann/catalog/projectdetail.jsp?PRODID=xprd73928&CATID=

I will add that it took me far longer than the recommended 2 hours to make this scarf, and frankly, I could have woven *several* scarves on a loom in the time it took me to execute this single project!
