Seems as if this was a 1950s Dryad loom, and this one is missing the treadles - although I can now see where they had been!  But any further infroamtion would be greatefully receieved.

Could have sworn I made a blog post about this loom before, cause i used to have one. Might even be here on this forum somewhere.

 

Here's a pic showing where the treadles should be. Looms don't come much simpler than this.
